Gift and curse

I have a sixth sense

I see what lies far beneath the surface of strangers and lovers.

I sense your desires, your fantasies, your needs.

I know what arouses you, what excites you, what makes you ache for release.

I learn your intentions, your agendas, your plans

I feel your hopes.

I watch your dreams.

I divine what you are thinking, what you are wondering, what you are wishing.

And I hear

what you aren’t saying.

.

I have a sixth sense.

It is both gift and curse.

Neophyte

Neophyte

.

In the middle of our conversation

my eyes are drawn

to the pale,

translucent skin of your throat,

to the shadowed hollow

and your perfect bones.

.

I am struck blind

by the holiest of visions.

.

Later staring out of the darkness

my fears are stilled

by the soft

remembered curve of your smile,

and the touch of your hand

when once alone.

.

I am sublime

with glorious religion.

.

.

This is by no means a new poem of mine, written some years ago and posted here four or five times. But one always adores a neophyte.

Greater danger?

Is your beauty

more dangerous

to me

than my words

are to you,

and will we

ever know

for sure?

Ruined

You have ruined

my box of words.

None of them

are good enough.

None of them

are adequate.

None of them

can do you justice.

My nouns

are neutered,

my adjectives

are absent,

my verbs

are without value.

I have run out

of metaphors

similes

and superlatives.

You have ruined

my box of words.

How can I

describe you now?

Connections

There are meetings

connections

and conversations

that seem full of portent

full of promise

full of premonition

unusual and special

from their very first breath.

Yet there are others

that appear innocent

with no significance

or implication

or intuition

until much later

when hindsight shows us

how momentous

those inauspicious

innocuous moments

really were.

Geometry

Your curves

your contours

your angles

your lines

your form

your figure

your shape.

I adore

your sublime

geometry.

Dark Priest

Dark Priest

I will be your dark priest.

You will confess your most intimate, most sensual,  most erotic, most sexual desires.

You will confide your deepest hidden sacred secret wishes,

your yearning, your lust, your longing.

You will tell me your wildest darkest decadent fantasies.

I will make them pure.

I will make them holy.

I will make them real.

I will give them flesh.
