At sea

If this

was the same

as swimming

out to sea

to a distant island,

she is now

at the point

where she is too far

from the shore

to return,

and can only

continue,

leaving her clothes

and her inhibitions

behind

on the beach

.

Not new, but sometimes someone is at sea…

Full-length mirror

Oh to be

your full-length mirror

and in silence

in secret

and unsuspected

admire you

adore you

and applaud you

every day.

Out of the blue

I believe in

unexpected

good things.

I believe in

the unpredicted

unanticipated

unforeseen

unheralded

un-looked for

completely

and utterly

out of the blue.

I believe in

the amazing.

And sometimes,

just sometimes,

my faith

is rewarded.

Written around this time a couple of years ago. But I like it. And good things that come out of the blue.

Shows no mercy

Sometimes

desire

has an edge

sharper

and crueller

than a razor.

Sometimes

desire

is blunt

brutal

and bruising.

Sometimes

desire

is nervous

restless

dangerous

and dark.

Always

it shows

no mercy.

Your Light

There is

no golden sunlight

no silver moonlight

no glittering starlight

no following spotlight

no revealing headlight

no flickering strobe light

no intense searchlight

no romantic candlelight

more illuminating

more compelling

more beautiful

than your light.

This is the fourth outing for this post. Sometimes such a light shines.

There are days

Sometimes

there are days

when I am awash

with words

vibrant with verse

potent with poetry

dangerously dark

with dominant desire.

And sometimes

there are days

when I don’t

give a fuck.

Reading Shakespeare

I approach life

and love

as if reading

Shakespeare,

becoming lost

in the Tragedies,

laughing

with the Comedies,

and ignoring

the Histories.
