sun like pale honey
yet I can feel Autumn
cool on the breeze

for the change
of seasons

it can all turn
on a word
a smile
an action
a hesitation
a judgement
a confusion
an attraction
a promise
a mistake
a brave leap
into the dark.

The musical among you will know that ‘A Momentary Lapse of Reason’ was a Pink Floyd studio album way back in the 1980s. I hope David Gilmour et al do not mind me using the title for this untidy scrap of poetry.
