before him

she realises

he is the temptation

the prayer

the pleasure

the pain

the sin

the confession

the blessing

and the absolution

all rolled into one.

I managed to upset those who follow a god with my post yesterday, so the use of religious imagery in my poetry in this post will no doubt lose me still more followers here and on Twitter. So be it.

It’s strange to me that those with faith require others to also have it. Shouldn’t their faith sustain itself?

Religion itself is a control system designed to keep up us in a box. It denies the fact that we are actually animals. Animals doubt, animals ‘sin’, and animals questions what’s around them.

Indeed so. And if one extends that, what point are blasphemy laws? Surely gods are greater than what mere man and women might say of them? Why do they need protection from insult?
