Walking today
beneath an impossible sky
of indigo and silver
blue and white
and countless greys,
full of the bleating of sheep
in ovine conversation
carried on an insistent wind
that tugged at my clothes.
And I carried you
silently and secretly
across field and pasture
by tree and hedgerow
over fence and stile.
your beauty captured
in the phone in my pocket
aware of you there
with every stride
a constant reminder
at the top of my thigh.
