If I touch you

If I touch you

deep

and dangerous

and dark

and for longer

than the brief moment

in which you read me

then there is either

an ache for poetry

or a longing

of a different kind

in your soul.

and I wish your words didn’t speak to my soul like fingers on my skin. I should stay away, but you are like a drug I cannot get enough of. You do soothe my frayed soul. Thank you.
