A secret

20 Oct

She has a secret

she cannot keep forever

but when she tells him

she fears everything

will change.

So she worries the truth

word by word

piece by piece

through her mind

like sinful fingers

counting prayers

on a rosary.

Some secrets are delightful, but once shared they are no long a secret.

This is beautiful. I especially like the last line. It’s perfect.

Everything did change. Alas, it changed again after that.
