Hush

25 Jun

Art by Azamat Kuliev

When it began

there were no fireworks

no pealing of bells

no unexpected violins

no dirty trumpets

no endless drum roll

no children carrying flowers

no choirs of celestial angels

no multiple gun salutes

no roar of jets overhead

no rolling breaking news

no million hits on YouTube

no city street cavalcade

no prime time TV chat shows

no crowds filling up the square

no celebrities endorsing

no leaders making tributes.

no mystical signs in the heavens.

When it began

you and I

us

there was only a deep hush

as if the whole universe

was holding its breath.

‘there was only a deep hush

    as if the whole universe

was holding its breath.’ … such a perfect ending to a gorgeous piece, as always

The art you have chosen is utterly stunning. The way he is holding his lover. They way his hands are placed beneath her breast. Wonderfully written as always Mr. D.

Stunning words, Mr. RD. The last few words hushed me.
