No Romance

24 Nov

no romance

There is no romance

these days

in typing

tapping out words

on my faithful mac

thumbing them untidily

on my phone

drumming them without grace

on my iPad

relying on auto correct

to cover my clumsiness

But oh

in the moonlight

in velvet night

beneath pure stars

I write your name

with my ancient Mont Blanc

in midnight blue ink.

I watch the nib

glide over virgin paper

and perfectly caress

your curves.

I have this same piece of art. I was saving it for a piece to write. I will not use it now, as my words will never do it justice as yours has. Beautifully and sensually written Mr D.

Sensations of the world around you, and your interactions with the tangible, are much more obvious when you aren’t sitting in front of an electronic.
It’s almost like the electronics feed off you, robbing you of your finer senses.
Did the drag of the pen across paper radiate through your fingertips, while cool air pricked your flesh, confirming you are ,indeed, still alive?

It does feels, at times, as if romance is a thing of the past… doesn’t it? As if technology has taken over, and maybe it has… to some point. And then out of the blue you receive an unexpected call, a text, that makes you raise an eyebrow… and puts a smile on your face… Or you read beautiful words such as this that make bite your lip and make your eyes shine because it’s as if they were written sòlus for you… That’s beautiful… That’s poetry…

    That’s romance… 😉

Truly enjoyed this piece Thank you

    Your Friend
