I remember

a silver necklace

a matchbook

a photograph

a cafe on the edge of the square

denim shorts

a perfect smile

light shining through leaves

a kiss that tasted of peaches

tiny elusive lizards

the smell of the sun

on your skin

and in your hair …

… oh sweet baby

the summer has truly gone
