When she falls

20 Oct

Dressed to Kill by Jack Vettriano

When She Falls

She has that look.

Something in the eyes.

In the line of her nose.

The tilt of her chin.

The set of her jaw.

She is bright, brave and assured.

But when she falls,

she will fall.

.

She has that smile.

Something in the curve.

In the line of her mouth,

The shape of her lips.

The show of her teeth.

She is cool, collected and poised.

But when she falls,

she will fall.

She has that way.

Something in the words.

In the sweep of her thoughts.

The pride in her voice,

The ice in her veins,

She is proud, aloof and secure.

But when she falls,

she will fall.

.

.

It is possible. I half hope that she does not

Perhaps that is the way she prefers it.

I know her. She always enters after I have fallen….and bruised. I wish she could whisper in my ear beforehand occasionally 🙂

I too share your love of Vettriano.

The print will reside in our home when my love comes to live with me. It’s our story. And it will come true….

Would her fall in your estimation be an exceedingly pleasurable one!?

From assured to cool to ice. The ice in her veins is my favorite part, both in the writing and in the reading of it.

Ah. That is because you are such a cool creature. Smiles.

Sometimes yes, and then there are the days when I am left a puddle on the floor…held together by only the slightest surface tension, and waiting for the next cold front. Smiles back.

Oh, You speak of a warm front then? I guess that is always the other possibility. Glad to provide you a little levity this Monday morning/afternoon.

I I’ve always thought when it comes to falling, I am inimitable and chief, but then your words made it sound like I’ve got competition. 😛 Beautiful words, voice, and image, as always. ❤

Sometimes, its good to fall, get up and go with the flow. A departure from your usual style but brilliant:)

The verbal poetry was outstanding. You gave life to your words.
