portrait in black and pearl by Jack Vettriano

Do not be alarmed.

These echoes have no power.  There is no resonance in their whispers, no memory in their vibration, no siren melody in their soft, distinct reverberation.

There is no connection in their distant, plaintive, lost harmony.

These echoes mean nothing.

It is merely the sound of dust settling.

and yet, they are incapable of not stirring the heart. even if it is but a momentary recollection, a fleeting thought. I bow, as always.

Wise beyond words, yet you still capture the wisdom.

Perhaps wisdom is the consolation prize for the passing years

I certainly hope so, and well worth the pain of them. I am now reliving a lesson not learned. This sting will fade but the wisdom, I assure you, will not this time.

The sublime emotions dancing between the lines felt like a breeze. Beautifully penned!

While your hand is writing, my eyes are reading one chord but my heart hears another. Powerful and beautiful sounds.

Yes. I know it well. I have used it somewhere on the blog, I’m sure. I like the underlying D/s in some of his paintings – and I like his women – who seem real
