Pillow

24 May

Pillow

If I had known

That it was the only time

Your lovely head

Would lie on the pillow

Next to me

I would have stolen

The cover away

Still gorgeous

With your body’s scent

To bury my face in it

On nights like these

The smell of leather lingered on the other side of my pillow after I returned my collar to Sir when he broke up with me. I can still smell it whenever I close my eyes, although I am now sleeping on a different bed half a world away from that pillow of mine.
    sigh.

the image-to-word ratio is perfectly balanced. Everything about this poem is executed beautifully. I love it.
