One of the few advantages of growing up with an impoverished background is that you quickly learn how to live without the things you know you can never have.  However much you thought you wanted them.

(The painting is by Fletcher Sibthorp and I’ve chosen it to represent a beauty that is beyond compare)

    I suppose it can be an advantage but even though I learned to live without I still long for them… :-/

      It is hard. But once I get a sense of perspective I can usually be strong and ignore the yearning. And I was thinking of specifics rather than that on-going ache.

      But you are young, and it is a skill to be learned …
